Alaska's arctic encompasses the area north of the Brooks Range, and is generally referred to as the North Slope. The Chukchi Sea lies to the northwest and the Beaufort Sea to the northeast while the eastern border is shared with Canada's Yukon Territory. The only weather station with long-term records in the Arctic Drainage is in Utqiaġvik (Barrow).
