The south coast region spans from Kodiak Island, up to the Kenai Peninsula, through the Prince William Sound and on to the extreme northern panhandle region. With the exception of Moose Pass and Cooper Lake (both located on the interior region of the Kenai Peninsula), all locations are coastal stations near sea level. This region exhibits a maritime climate with relatively warm winters and cool, cloudy summers.
